What is Albendazole and what is it used for

Albendazole is a broad-spectrum benzimidazole antihelmintic (antiparasitic) medicine used to treat a variety of worm infections in humans and animals — for example, intestinal helminths, neurocysticercosis (pork tapeworm in the brain), and cystic hydatid disease (dog tapeworm larvae). It works by disrupting the parasite’s ability to take up glucose, which eventually kills the worm.
